Anyone seen these, cheaper then the DJI Phantom, and like the DJI Phantom, both of the above are miles better and leave the AR Drone in the dust.

I find to many problems with the AR Drone, even using the GPS module, does not correct the Drones issues. I am also getting both, and still love the Phantom.

nothing wrong with a drone for its price was set to sell in a market, and is a very well designed quad.
Phantom nothing wrong with its price for what it does and has excellent potentials, all proof on site here the owners will back it up.i find it very hard to beat. :|

For those who like to do it yourself the best option is a open source based drone, like APM or CC3D, just add a gimbal and a go pro if you need aerial video. Maybe it's not the easiest but it gives you total control.

Hello.

What is the best open source based drone or set of parts to build an alternative to the DJI Mavic or Robotics EVO drone?
Those are too expensive for me.

I'm looking for something smaller than a Phantom or a Xiaomi Mi, but with obstacle avoidance and followme option and around 30min range, 5km range, Max Altitude at least 300m, Foldable or small size. (like Mavic or less), Optical stabilizated camera or gimbal, FPV, GPS, Sensor avoidance and Followme option.

I prefer softness and accuracy over speed.
