Bebop 2 turns off after 5 seconds with a fully charged battery

Post by droneuser9876 » 30 Aug 2019, 21:33

I bought my bebop 2 about 3 years ago and have been using it on a weekly basis without any issues. However, something strange started happening with the drone this summer.

Every time I attempt to fly the drone, the app shows the battery charge go down on an enormous rate -- 100% reduces to 2% in about 5 seconds, and the fully charged drone turns off. If I immediately restart the drone and the app, the charge is again on its previous value, and still rapidly goes down after I take off.

I have checked the batteries and they look fine (12 - 13V on each battery, >4V on each cell).
The issue is reproducible on multiple devices (Iphone 5, Iphone XR, Samsung S8) so I doubt it is smartphone-related.

I tried to contact the parrot's support team, but they have been ignoring me so far.

Have you guys encountered this problem before? What can I do in this situation?

Thanks for reading!

Hello, First sorry for my bad english, It's not me, it's Google translation :D

To check, but I think there is one or more of the three elements of the battery that is defective. This element has its voltage which falls very quickly in function. so the application indicates that the battery is empty.
You measure the voltage without power consumption. But the drone returns the voltage in flight, when the 4 engines are running

Have you tried with a new battery?

Battery problems are the same for all types of battery. 3 years is a goods life
Parrot are offering really cheap battery with new Charger
But before you do that.
Cycle the battery
Charge it fully and then leave the drone n until it flattens it. Then immediately charge it
Matbe do it again
But quite frankly replacing athree year old battery is cheaper than loosing the drone
