Difference between the two controllers

Post by FredsterV30 » 01 Nov 2018, 12:03

Good day.
Can anyone please tell me the following..

I bought a Parrot bebop 2 power fpv drone. This drone is all black and the skycontroller 2.

Then a friend gave me a Parrot FPV- Skycontroller 2 & Cockpit glasses.
This is the black end white controller.

What is the difference between the two controllers and has better range? Please help me understand

Hello and welcome to the board,

as far as I know the only difference is the battery. Original Bebop comes with a standard lipo battery 2700 mAh. The Bebop power comes with a "high voltage" lipo battery of 3350 mAh.

"High voltage" means a single cell goes up to 4.35 volts (instead of 4.2 volts). This change also requires a different charger.

I can't say it for sure but it is very likely that the Skycontroller is the same.

Yes the parrot bebop 2 power give you 30min of flying per battery, where the older version gives you 20 - 25 min.

I want to know if the signal range on the two is the same or not.. I can not find any thing about this.

The Parrot FPV- Skycontroller 2 & Cockpit glasses. This controller is a lot heavier than the the one coming with the Parrot bebop 2 power... I noticed that the battery is a lot bigger... Thay say it will last up to 5 hours..

But I need to know the signal strength between the two.

I think it doesnt matter that much because the BB2 WiFi power output will be at max 400 mW when country set to US or Hong Kong. If the receiving part of the various SC is the same the 'range' will not be different. :D

Both controllers have the same range and capability. Functionally, there's no difference.

The older version (with silver joysticks) uses a built-in 2-cell LIPO (7.2 volt) battery. The newer one (black joysticks) uses a single-cell 3.7 v Lipo battery. Some people have commented that the new one has a shorter battery life because of this change.
