Parrot Community site down!?

Post by Dirk_ANAFI » 16 Oct 2018, 12:54

Since yesterday the Parrot Community site seems to be offline and links to the US support page.
The end of the Parrot Community including the "knowledge base" without any announcement? 😮

Hello,

yes I also noticed this. Very likely technical problems.

Site is still down, no announcement. Feel free to discuss here, we (formerly http://ardrone-flyers.com) exist since 2010 and are here to stay.

If the site stays down then this means for example especially for the Mambo:
If the firmware update did not function for any reason, the update until now could be made via USB, downloading the file (up to 3.0.17) on a PC and copying it to the drone.

Now there is no way to get the firmware file.
That means (with new App v. 5.5.3):
1. Owners of the Fly and Mission versions have to update the firmware via BT, that lasts several minutes and crashes sometimes. And this is possible only, if you are also connected with your phone to the internet. If you use a tablet without cellular telephone function, then you must have internet over your home WLAN.
2. Owners of the FPV version (with camera) could go much faster via WLAN (only a few seconds), but you must have internet. No chance for tablet users, who get internet only over WLAN!

One can always extract the firmware from the app. This should be no problem.

Ok. Sounds very good. But with my abilities I would need a detailled instruction for this extraction. :)

So does this mean that there is an update for the Mambo firmware?

Yes, but only without the FPV camera (Fly & Mission).
With FPV cam you can now make photos only with this cam (that's new!)

Hi all,

Sorry if this is considered spam but I'm really sad I can't use my Mambo and my post has had no replies: viewtopic.php?f=127&t=9832
Is there anyone who could help me with my problem?

Much appreciated!
