Grabber advice, please

Post by Zerowkul98 » 04 Oct 2018, 02:09

Hi Everyone.

New guy here. I have a set of Mambos that i use in my school as part of an engineering lesson. I find myself constantly reconstructing and repairing the grabbers. Most likely when they fall or hit aomething, they go all out of whack. I have to take the arms out, put the worm gear back on, put arms back on in symetrical-fashion, sometimes the worm hear scoots up the motor shaft and jams, etc etc.

Seeing if anyone encountered the same issues as me and if there were any fixes?

There is a clip in the middle of the grabber that looks to hold the worm gear in the assembly, but its always popping open, and then the rest goes to hell.

Im open to any ideas.

I don't think there is a good way to protect this filigree part.
Perhaps it would help if the motor casing would not go open.

So you could try to stabilize the motor casing with superglue:
1. At the back end (where the cable comes out)
2. At the front end (where the top end of the worm gear is located in)
But not to much of it: the worm gear must stay moving ... ;)
