never mine i see the schematic in the zip
so you'd basically wire the adjustable pots, esc, keeping the original motor boards to arduino add motor of choice with new gears/props and battery
correct?
will i need different schematic/sketch for different arduino? i got pro mini from sparkfun.com for my dx6i.

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
Well Just got my parts list done.
Quantity Stock Product description Price Weight
2 9329000031 - Slow Fly Electric Prop 11x4.7SF RH Rotat.. EU7.04 134
4 TAE-30A - Turnigy AE-30A Brushless ESC EU44.03 156
4 OK 9192000116-0 - Turnigy Multistar 2216-800Kv 14Pole Mult.. EU13.52 130
1 OK 9387000061-0 - HK Pilot Power VI Module, Distribution B.. EU18.09 25
1 OK 297000092-0 - Tarot FY650 IRON MAN 650 Quad-Copter Car.. EU83.10 901
1 OK 323000070-0 - HobbyKing Brushless ActionCam Gimbal Wit.. EU33.99 400
1 OK 9387000019-0 - 2-Axis Brushless Camera Gimbal Stabiliza.. EU33.07 24
What do you think ?
This combination has the advantage that it i want to take the are drone controller and use other type of controler it will work.
My only question is on the propellers, these have right hand rotation (Clockwise) will they do for the ar drone system or i will have to have a pair of each.
Best Regards to all

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
Hi thought id register as this looks like a really interesting project and exactly the type of thing iv been wanting to do with mine for a while now.
would it be possible to make an instructables type how-to on this as im all for doing this and while collecting the parts together and building it looks simple enough, programming & setting up the ardunio to work looks really difficult to do.
I was thinking along the likes of using a much larger tarot frame and removing everything from ar drone bar the components required to get it flying.
kudos to everyone that actually got this to work!

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
Hello all,
I find this a fascinating post and saw the videos and want to build this mod itself. My problem is that I have dyslexia and language does not know well enough. Google Translate solves part of the problem. But that it remains very difficult for me to make a summary from all posts. Nevertheless, I've tried in the last two months to distil information. I can not do the job on my own, so I have to ask for help.
Well I know that my disability is not the problem of the rest of the world. But I want to ask you whether it is possible that I can make out from one post that I need to make this mod. And what is the proper code etc. Thanks in advance

If anyone is interested at doing this with an AR Drone 1.0, it works... FYI.

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
Hi! I am working on this mod. Please tell me can I build it with bare arduino nano, without gain potentiometers and debug/adjustment switches? And adjust all from code? Will it work without them?

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
Ok. According to the code it should work without any switches and potentiometers. Now I have another trouble. Arduino was flashed and connected to the RL motor board like in the schematics (without ESCs and motors). After power on red LEDs on the motors boards FR FL RR are blinking one after another, but RL LED is not. And OSD shows "engine emergency". After disconnecting the signal wire between RL motor board and arduinos RX0 all motor boards blinks normally and turns into green. Voltage measurements shows +5v on signal wire (green) from RL motor board. And it also shows +5v on RX0 pin. I think that +5v on RX is the reason of this issue. What should I do?

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
Hmmm RX0 must be in high state, +5v is normal on this pin... It looks like that signal from the RL controller board is not strong enough to pull down nanos RX0 pin... The RX LED on nano is very slightly blinking when data received.

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
Ok. The point was in china bad clone of arduino with CH340. In this modification RX|TX LEDs is soldered directly to RX0|TX1 pins. And also CH340 wired incorrectly. With another (better) china clone everything seems work fine. In the attached photos the wired clone works good, the unwired one you should never use in this mod. It is not work.

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod
It seems to work... Without props
Can I mount props and do the flight test without making any changes in the code? Please look video, is it sounds right?
