"Hi Hal...........Would you like a game of chess?"

Sadly if you break a foot its repair it if you have the bit, or get a complete crossmember.
I'm looking at cutting a slice out of a plastic bottle and superglueing it where the foot went on mine. ( like a U loop of plastic bottle )

Re: broken foot, need entire cross?
So, after a crash landing from a height of 2 meters I broke a leg that I have suddenly proceeded to "stick" with Attack!
Now I ask... how can I replace? I need to change the center cross?
In various shopping sites are also mods for the feet, these are "added" to the classic pin or can I go to the mod with the broken leg?
Thank you!

Broken foot here also.
I think it's possible to remove the foot from the central cross and replace it, but I need the replacement foot.
So anyone here with a broken central cross willing to sell me one foot?

Re: broken foot, need entire cross?
I do not think the entire landing foot sub-assembly can be removed from the central cross member. It appears to be bonded on at the factory.
I too broke off a landing foot. (I already had a new-spare central cross to swap out.)
I tried various adhesives to reattach the foot.
I put a drop of various adhesives (glue) on an outside surface of the broken foot.
None of them stuck well. However, perhaps I should have roughed up the surface before apply the glue test drops.
You only have one shot using the right glue. Since the break in the foot is rough and porous, the pores will be filled if the glue fails making another reattachment attempt compromized.
I am going to take my broken foot central cross to a hobby shop. The man there said he would drill tiny holes on each side of the break and attempt to insert metal pins before gluing to help strengthen the joined areas.

The guy at your hobby shop must work cheap! A new cross is only $30.......garrock wrote:I do not think the entire landing foot sub-assembly can be removed from the central cross member. It appears to be bonded on at the factory.

Yes... cheap. He holds weekly after hour build-fix work shops at his store.Vytas wrote:The guy at your hobby shop must work cheap! A new cross is only $30.......
He said he would fix it for me for free during one of those work shop meets.
So, I have nothing to loose and possibly gain a working spare central cross.

Re: broken foot, need entire cross?
Both Scuba Steve and garrock are correct. After breaking one off just under the circuit board, I re attached it with hobby CA glue and it SEEMED to work. Until I had to punch out the other day and planted the very same foot in my yard. Got lucky again though and found it. CA won't work anymore because the pores are all sealed up from the first time. But a wee bit of my old friend JB Weld and it's solid.
Time to add some zip ties.

Re: broken foot, need entire cross?
I found epoxy glue to adhere well, especially if you not only cover the face of each break but also surround the entire joint in epoxy.
Just be careful about application and don't use too much as it does add weight.

Re: broken foot, need entire cross?
NICE FIND! I knew there had to be a way to safely remove those feet! Awesome! I'm so excited -- I have 2 broken crosses with good feet, and one good one with a broken foot
.. lots of spares!
Here's the video on that page:

It looks like he's selling unused feet from broken crosses -- more power to him, but the price is a bit high considering a new cross is only $30.
It would be interesting to customize the design on a 3D printer... all kinds of crazy designs could be made.. I'm sure there is plastic material strong enough..
