Motor gear cog flew off? Help!!
Hi all
Got a weird problem here. I was flying my drone the other day and it spazzed out and dropped to the ground. Upon inspection I noticed that a gear cog from one of the motors had popped off. Somehow, it must have dislodged itself. The question is where the heck do I get a new one. The motor itself is still fine and I really don't want to have to buy a whole new motor just because the gear is lost. Any ideas?

Re: Motor gear cog flew off? Help!!
cog = tooth on a gear
Drone has pinion gear (on motor shaft) and a drive gear (attached to prop or rotor blade).
Both are spur gears.
It takes a gear puller to get pinion off the motor shaft.
Pinion is an eight tooth 5mm brass gear with 1mm shaft.
New motor comes with pinion gear and may be the only way to get up and flying.

Motor gear cog flew off? Help!!
Unfortunately the only way is to replace the motor...I have a broken motor on stock, but it's a huge effort to get the gear and assemble it on the motor

Re: Motor gear cog flew off? Help!!
It's the drive gear that flew off. Does this make it more feasible to fix? How would this even come off if it's difficult to take off?
Thanks
Thanks

Motor gear cog flew off? Help!!
I think it was a manufacturing error. We had in 2011 two customers with the same problems...

That's not the problem - the actual drive pin/cog on the motor flew off! Somehow it came undone!cozmicray wrote:Parrot AR.Drone Replacement Gear with Shaft Set

Sounds like a new motor. Can you upload a picture? If the drone is anywhere near new, I would also send it to Parrot. ( they might want the old motor so don't pitch it for a bit )man_bites_dog wrote:cozmicray wrote:That's not the problem - the actual drive pin/cog on the motor flew off! Somehow it came undone!
