Sky Controller2 & Bebop 2

Post by larry31 » 28 Jan 2019, 16:47

First question: Is it easier to fly with a Sky Controller 2 than a Tablet?

I currently use my Samsung Galaxy Tab2 tablet. I find it difficult to get a good feel by having a smooth screen. There's no real feel as to how much I'm moving the controller pads. Would the control sticks allow for better control?

Second question: Would this controller work with my Galaxy Tablet and my Bebop-2

I understand it comes with a mount for a smart phone. Would my Galaxy Tab 2 fit this holder? (Tablet measures 8" wide by 5 1/2" high)

1) Yes, I find the tactile feedback of a joystick and buttons a lot easier to fly with.

2) Yes, I've been using a Samsung Galaxy Tab II with the SC2 for a while. It fits well.

Sorry about the thread hijack. Waterlanding, what are you using to connect your Tab 2 to the skycontroller 2? My Tab 2 has a 30 pin USB and does not recognize the Skycontroller 2.

I use a standard USB 2.0 cable. Micro end plugged into the Galaxy Tab S2, Regular end plugged into the SC2. You might have to pull down "Notifications" when you first plug in and look for "USB Device connected". Click on that and it will ask what sort of device. Select "Media".

Thanks Waterlanding! I ended up having to download Freeflight pro again and then updating it. Then I did what you said and everything works as it should now. As soon as I saw that 30 pin connector on the Tab 2, I knew it was not going to be as easy as it was with my phone but I got it for free and it will be worth the extra hassle I had setting it up once I start flying with it.
