Huawei tablet use.

Hi all, new Bebop2 owner here, loving this forum. :D
So far I have only used my iPhone 7 for short flights with sky-controller & all works OK.
As I just recently purchased A Huawei M2 Mediapad (8" tablet) for other use I was wondering if I can use this instead of my iPhone ?

Specs are as below:
• Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS.
GPS, A-GPS, Glonass Location & Navigation,
Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11ac/a/b/g/n, 2.4 / 5 GHz
Bluetooth: 4.0: compatible with 3.0 2.1 + A2D, EDR, BLE
• Ambient Light Sensor • Accelerometer • Proximity
• Hall sensor • Compass

Also will it work with Follow me app ? It says GPS on one site & only A-GPS on another, will I need a sim if only assisted GPS onboard ?
Thanks in advance.
cheers.....
Steve.

I assume you wanna know if your Huawei tablet will work with FFpro (not other apps)
Imo there is no reason why it not should work on Android Lollipop. If the Follow Me mode will work I dont know, there are some Android versions that has some isues with that.
I should say just try is on low altitude and short distance. Have fun :-)

Follow Me is designed to only work with phones - not tablets. It also requires a barometer in the control device for altitude changes. It'll work well on your iPhone, but not any tablet.

Ok thanks for that,
I thought it was GPS that determined whether it would work or not, I guess I'll have to rethink the plan.
Appreciate the input.
Cheers......

Finally got around to downloading Freeflight pro for the tablet. Noticed that the option for in-app purchase of follow me does not appear on the screen, I assume the app recognises the tablet is not compatible . Flies ok with the tablet anyway so I'll just have to take iPhone along when I need to use follow me. BTW this tablet is a great little unit (M2- 8") for other stuff, excellent sound for such a small unit.

It's not exactly that the tablet isn't compatible. As I stated earlier. Follow Me only works with phones. It won't work with any tablet. :(

I'm sorry other posters (who don't use Follow Me) mislead you into thinking it would work.

After my initial flights with the tablet, I now cannot connect to the skycontroller2 unit. Tablet throws up "data synchronization failed" as soon as I plug in the usb cable. What is data synchronisation & how come my ios device doesn't do that ? Sorry for noob questions but I'm totally unfamiliar with Android OS. Anyone else encounter this issue with similar tablets ?

It depends on the device, but I think if you pull down your Notifications screen (when connected) you'll see a "USB Device Connected" notice. Click on it and it will ask what type of device (pc, media, etc...). Click on one of the media options and it should work.
