ShellDude
My request:
I would pay another $4.99 for a User Manual, FAQ & Instructional Videos!

EDIT:
I just now found 'Flight Recorder Q & A' after previously searching and not finding it, a good start.

Navistick battery.

I opened up my Navistick LE and found battery B1 on board.
I measured the voltage at the battery with the unit plugged in at about 2.95V,
and also measured with it disconnected starting at about 2.9V and decreasing over time to 0.34V.
I tried to find data on battery backup voltage; but wasn't certain I was seeing the right
GT GPS chip. But most mentioned minimum backup battery was 1.2V.
This might mean that this unit with a run down or failing battery might always Cold start
with no saved data at all.

Maybe one of our more electrically experienced members might be of help here.

Thanks Jayson!

I'm fairly satisfied with all my documentation efforts at this point. Over the weekend I built a couple key contextual flyouts into the UI and have also spent a little bit of time here updating the various guides.

I'll pull it all together within a standalone online document at some point -- but for now hopefully folks have all they need to dig in and have fun.

Will be revisiting the HUD likely next. I've shared my vision with a few and have a handful of outstanding requests I need to integrate into it.... namely drone bearing to pilot.

2.0.19 will likely go out a little later tonight... nothing too fancy:

Code: Select all

  % Version 2.0.19
  _ 2013-12-09
  ! Minor Enhancements
  	* This update is only available for ICS+ devices
  	* Added SSID to connected toast
  	* Contextual Help additions

Got something pretty cool in the works... may even release it this weekend. Incorporating some feedback from a couple SMEs before taking it live.

The constant snowfall here isn't helping much either.... brrr it is cold.

Will be releasing 2.0.20 tonight

This release focuses on a useful HUD. I've got a couple more HUD enhancements in the works so stay tuned.

did I mention how nice these updates are? lol.. VERY nice! However, I think the hoverlock at minimum altitude was NOT working before this last release. I am now seeing the H appear when I am over 30 feet up (set to >9M) which means HOVERLOCK IS ON.. and I am actually seeing the rocking horse motion to stop up there.. before I wasn't, which I guess is why I was so concerned, lol. but this is working well now!.. compass vector and all -- I think I can get used to it!

But I'll say this, I tried to do compass calibrate after take off.. but I wasn't surprised nothing happened (hover lock is off for me that low).. BUT.. when I went up I was freaked out to see it spin around at altitude.. lol... duh me.. hover lock got enabled and it then calibrated compass... which brings me back to what I asked about way back... when I go to menu-> compass calibrate.. why doesn't it enable hoverlock then calibrate, then disable it if it was disabled? (that one touch thing... perhaps this clarifies the feature request -- it makes zero sense to have the menu option to calibrate compass available if it doesn't do anything until a future time IF that feature is enabeld...)

The visual indicator certainly helped "optimize" the implementation :)

I'll see about a dedicated thread just for calibrate magneto wrapped with logic to enable and restore the previous hover lock value. shouldn't be too big a deal.

I don' get the whole Hover Lock thing!
Why would I want use it? Why would I set a minimum altitude?
What will happen if I take my fingers off the screen; hover? below minimums crash/land?

Second:

This setting; 'Fly with no GPS fix.' Enabled/Disabled
My mind explodes trying to figure out this setting logic!

Why not 'Fly with GPS fix.' Enabled/Disabled

Shell these are to be taken as constructive comments. Thanks for a very good program.

Carl

Hover lock comes into play much more so with a gamepad than without. Having control over it helps in a couple different areas, particularly around slow speed transitions.

Regarding "Fly with no GPS fix" -- it is an override. I've had my drone become very unpredictable when you get an initial fix while in flight. I had no plans to make it an option until it was requested specifically. "Fly with GPS fix" is not authoritative when the default behavior is to only allow the drone to fly if it first has a GPS fix ;)

Playing with KitKat's screen record features.... still tuning up the HUD... I have a version beyond this one where N,W,E,S are pushed into the outer ring.
