move maps to sdcard?

Post by jpgeerets » 14 Dec 2014, 13:20

hi folks,

is it possible to move the map folder (or whole application) to the sdcard?
this saves lots of internal memory :-)

hope someone has same problem as i have...

thanks in advanced.

I assume you mean external SD, so the answer is no. Google messed up external SD support in kitkat and are now backtracking in lollipop, but to work across devices I only use /sdcard.
You can just use Google maps and its offline caching if you don't want the map taking space, or follow MapsForge instructions to create a custom map with just the area you want.

that's right.
my phone memory is almost full due to some card in the routeplanner.
today i saw an update of the routeplanner to store the maps on sdcard.
just the phone has to use lolipop so i have to wait some more to get free space :-)
