If 3nslav3 doesn't answer back here... Send him a PM... He's familiar with the process and the app and the phone you're using...

this one will work:
http://www.amazon.com/Electronics-Micro ... B005GGBYJ4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
no need for special apps etc..... just test with a USB stick when the cable arrives, you will see in the status bar that the phone has found a usb stick
same with a gamepad, plug it in, press the playstation logo and you can navigate the android menus
in ARDrone Flight PRO:
just map the buttons under gamepad mappings, that is all
no need to root, install special software, its plug and play@ its best!

So you have to use that OTG thingy AND the PlayStation USB cable??? That's a buttload of wiring... Will any short USB cable work ok?

Wow, this actually sounds pretty easy. Where do you guys get those phone mounts for the controller? Or have you all just made your own?

Re: Control your AR Drone with Playstation 3 gamepad over Wi
Can anyone tell me if the cable that comes with the GameKlip to connect to your phone is the one I need? I'm trying to fly with a PS3 controller without having to Root.
3nslav3: You said I need a specific cord for this to work. On the GameKlip website it says that the one for the Galaxy S3 comes WITH a cord for connecting to your phone. Will that work? If you guys tell me that it will, I will be ordering this stuff soon.
And what else will I need to get it all working? Like apps and other stuff.

Yup, I bought gameklip with cable for my galaxy s3. Works great. No root needed to use with ardrone flight pro.
No other apps needed.

Nice. I'll have to order one as soon as i get the scratch then. Does it only work with the Dualshock 3 controller or will it work with the Dualshock 2?

Grump wrote:I'm using "ARDrone Flight" instead, the onscreen controls don't move. One issue I had was the touch profile was loading the screenshot in portrait mode, so I had to rotate the screenshot 90 degrees in the gallery first, no big deal. I turned the deadzones all the way down in the touch profile, that way I didn't have to change my finger settings in ardrone flight, it has its own deadzone. I also turned the analog sensitivity way up, to about 2/3. I was never concerned about range, just analog flight. I probably won't buy the macgyver mod now, you saved me mad cash!
when you try to change the hight limit ardrone flight pro says changing this value will cause the app to crash,,,,and asks if you want to continue using ardrone flight,,, what happens if you say ok?????, did you try this yet????
i have seen vids of people using ardroneflight very high up. but am afraid to hit ok so i can only fly at minimum altitude:(
thanks for any info
oh yeah to extend range is easy use a tp-link wifi range extender i got mine for 30 bucks on ebay,,,,,,, set up is instant and easy as holding a button for 5 seconds. its not as good as macgyver mod but greatly improves range

Re: Control your AR Drone with Playstation 3 gamepad over Wi
just hit ok
putting it higher will cause the parrot freeflight) app to crash, not ARDrone flight
if you want to use the parrot app (freeflight) again then youll ned to put it back on 3 meter
everybody presses "ok"
nothing will happen

Here's a list of devices that work/don't work with the OTG cable connection:
http://buy.thegameklip.com/pages/compatibility" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You can add Nexus 7 to that list too, I'm using it with the gameklip universal mount and it works fine. You'll have to add in the cost of a TPU case as the universal mounts permanently to the case. It's a little top heavy with a Nexus 7, but it works fine. You'll have to get ARDF though, I don't think the Parrot app will work using otg.
