Re: Control your AR Drone with Playstation 3 gamepad over Wi
I finally got mine working on my HTC sensation, the stock rom isn't supported by sixaxis due to crappy bluetooth drivers but after testing about 6 roms I finally found one where sixaxis connected to my PS3 gamepad
link to the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1494373" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (i know there are other users using a HTC sensation)
noob guide for flashing the sensation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1472298" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you will also need to flash "gapps" after you flashed the rom to enable the google play store thingy to work without crashing
so far everything works stable but I don't recommend this to people without ROM flashing experience (there is a great risk of bricking your device involved if you don't know what you are doing)
it took me a lot of effort but in the end it was all worth it

Nope. As DBS stated in the previous post above, Apple lockdown its Bluetooth. Not even a jailbreak will allow you to pair any controller.DroneBoy_UK wrote:Is there any apps like this for iPhone to control with ps3 controller chhers

This, and other things like HDMI output and connecting USB drive to my Android phone is what made me move away from iOS.

If you want, maybe buy a medium powered pay-as-you-go Android phone and use it with the Drone. That way you don't have to deal with contract.DroneBoy_UK wrote:Ok thanks for that - yes I'm thinking a move also is what's neededstriders wrote:Nope. Has anyone found a mount that works with a 10" tablet (e.g. nexus 10)?

So, only with root access... I've been thinking about rooting my Verizon S3 for a while now. I don't really care for swapping ROMs or anything like that, i just want the root access. Is it just as safe with the S3? I've done a ton of reading about it and feel confident that i could successfully root it with Odin. I've just heard so many dang stories about people trashing their S3's because of a botched root attempt. And obviously if i botch my rooting and i can't fix it i will be hosed and won't be able to get it replaced via warranty.DroneBonerStallone wrote:Yeah... you need root access
You have good support online to root that Samsung no problem... rooting is very safe now... changing your operating system ROM is the thing that starts all the problems if your unsure so stay away from that stuff... you can root really easy and return to stock really easy in case of warranty repair... just Google Samsung fascinate root and do some reading
It just seems like the risk outweighs the reward.
This would be the thing that puts me over the top on it though. If rooting it will enable me to be able to use a PS3 controller to fly my Drone... It would almost be worth it just for that.
Is there anyone else on here that uses a rooted S3 with the PS3 controller?

You can do this with an S3 using an OTG cable without rooting on the ARDrone Flight Pro APP...
Or, to make things cleaner... Get a mini to micro USB cable like this

Re: Control your AR Drone with Playstation 3 gamepad over Wi
the cable has to have pin 4 and 5 connected on the phone side, better check the purpose of this cable first before ordering it

Oookay. So can someone tell me exactly what I need to do to make this possible with that cable?DroneBonerStallone wrote:You can do this with an S3 using an OTG cable without rooting on the ARDrone Flight Pro APP...

It needs to be a 5 pin connection on the micro USB side? Then how do I enable it from the flight pro app?
I still don't understand the specifics. I'm going to try to find some more literature on it.
