Best Game controller and clip

Post by FreakFly » 26 Nov 2014, 12:50

I just picked up an A.R. Drone 2.0 and the Drone Flight Pro app. I'm looking into which game controller would work the best via OTG with a game clip. Are any of the controllers easier to setup than another? I'm hearing a lot of talk about the PS3 controller. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I use the dualshock sixaxis PS3 controller over bluetooth. If you want a controller that connects through usb/OTG cable, I use the logitech f310. The software to emulate screen touches is way easier for the sixaxis controller.

I use an Android compatible Bluetooth game controller.

The Snakebyte iDroid.

It might add a bit more overall lag but if doing open air flying, then not really an issue.

Do the android compatible controllers work without rooting?

I'm Interested in trying either the amazon fire controller, or the google player controller - both are supposed to be usable with any android device.

Has anyone tried either of them?

I use the ps3 six axis controller with a universal clip to hold my old Samsung Galaxy 3. I used the six axis app to configure the controller and use it wirelessly through the phones Bluetooth. Its the best option in my opinion.

I've got one of the new Sony phones which has direct compatibility with the PS3 and PS4 controllers (Z3 series phones and I think some previous ones). I use the PS4 simply because there's an official Sony Game Control Mount that fits around the controller without impinging button access AND fits any phone with a smooth/flat back (suction cup).

Simple set up, both controllers over bluetooth, no root needed! Just a new phone....

Anybody know anything for IOS? I know there are a few controllers to buy but I want the most precise one, as that's my goal is being more precise with my ar drone.

Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R is just the best for drone piloting (if on Android, use the patched AR.Freeflight 2.4.10 on this forum), and playing games on Android/PC/Mac/raspberry Pi 8-)

Personally for iOS and Apple TV, I prefer Steelseries Nimbus controller. As far as I know there is no device mount, so not the best for flying the AR.Drone.

Good evening, You seem very knowledgeable in this forum and am not. I have a Parrot AR 2.0 that I would like to fly with joysticks and not on my iPhone 8 or :D IPad screen display. But I do not hav3 an android device to use. I got the Nimbus controller like you mentioned but couldn’t figure out how to link it to the drone. Is that still possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Steve.
