Drone Cam for iOS - turn a broken AR.Drone into a wifi cam

Post by AR.Tommy » 16 Dec 2012, 16:14

With Drone Cam you can turn an AR.Drone into a wifi webcam, even broken ones. It prevents every error message that the firmware would throw because of missing motors or broken parts.

You will get about 5 hours wifi video stream with a full battery.

Drone Cam is compatible with AR.Drone 1 and 2. Of course you can use this app also with a working AR.Drone.

Now this app may be perfect for me as I plan on using the quad mod rc mod and garrocks wheel for video so this may be better as it won't have all the control etc on screen will check it out!!

Cheers

Could other users connect at the same time to view your flight? That'd be cool :)

Maxwell1472, at the moment it looks like it is only possible when using an AR.Drone 1.

How about a version that still shows speed, alt etc for the likes of me using both rc and wifi?

Optional layers for speed, alt and stuff would be no problem at all. What exactly does ARD2 mean? This is for AR.Drone 2 and 1.

ARD2 = AR.Drone 2.0... or it could just be R2-D2's long lost sister :D

Now I am confused. Doesn't it work with your AR.Drone 2?

I'm a little confused.
I assume this works as long as your Iphone is within the limited wi-fi range of the drone. If that's the case, wouldn't any of the current free apps do the same with a functioning drone?

Or is this really an app that can be used to view your AR.Drone's camera no matter where you are in the world, as long as you have a wi-fi connection?

I got the app . Is there a way to record to idevice with it ? or is it just what you see as long as the battery lasts with no record ? a sponge with batt and motherboard velcro'd to it is making use of my broken parts lol . Fun but would be cool if it recorded too . Maybe im just dumb and cant figure it out hahahaa . Thanks .

You can always use free apps with similar functionality, that is true. They will have a cluttered UI and show some random error messages.

Recording is not yet supported.
