Video recording AND photo taking?
I took a flight this morning, and was recording video to USB during the flight (AR FreeFlight 2.0 on original iPad). I thought I would also snap a few photos at the same time. The camera icon on the screen appeared to 'grey out' like it was taking a photo while flying.
After landing and collecting the USB drive, I found the only media on the device was the movie.
Does recording a video preclude collecting a photo at the same time? I looked through the user manual, but could not locate anything to document this. I suppose it makes sense - 1 forward facing camera can only do 1 thing (video OR photo) at 1 time.
I'm just looking to confirm my understanding of the software is correct.

Re: Video recording AND photo taking?
I had a similar issue. After a long flight I could not see my photos.
Plug the battery back into the drone and connect to it using free flight. Don't take off - just leave it connected for a while.
I did this and all my videos and photos came through to the device or USB.
Ps. From what I have seen photos ALWAYS gets stored on the device and not USB.

Kaelaria-you were right. After recharging the battery and connecting the drone the next time, the photos were on the iPad. Interesting that the video was saved on the USB and the photos taken at the same time were saved on the iPad. Live and learn!

Re: Video recording AND photo taking?
I updated the soft ware on Ipad to OS6, and on Freeflight to latest version, now I can't take video or snapshots. Ive flown a few missions and not one video...I've tried what you all said...and nothing...

Re: Video recording AND photo taking?
As a newbee (1st day), I also tried both recording to my iPad running iOS6 with AR.FreeFlight version 2.1.12. I've tried both recording to the iPad and even to a new USB driveSanDisk Cruzer Fit SDCZ33-008G. I figure the 8GB is more than needed, the drive is so small it would not add much to the weight and there would be space issue when putting the haul on. Well, two out of three is a start. I wished I am able to record. Anyone having a similar issue? I welcome any suggestions, tips, tricks and spells (if it helps).
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Video recording AND photo taking?
Has anyone tried to feed the video from and Ipad, Iphone or android device to goggles like shark or other brands to make it easier to see the video in daylight?

That was plan with Drone Ace and 60beat controller
I think someone mentioned that the apps won't output the video. I'm sure it would a been done by now if it was possible. I cold be wrong.
