macgyver mod, won't work with new firmware, how to go back?
my macgyver mod hasn't been working at all, though everything is doing what it's supposed to - it just won't respond to the transmitter. the macgyver mod creator watched video of it and says the reason it's not working is because the firmware in the drone was updated and it won't work with the updated firmware. how the heck do i go back?

It's odd that I don't have that problem.
I bought my mod on a used drone from eBay, and later found out it is not a MacGyver. I actually sent Mac pictures of my board asking about an upgrade. He told me that was not his board but some guy that is making his own and representing them as Macgyver. I was disappointed to say the least.
The thing is that it works really well! I can fly like the AR should be able to fly. Trims out perfectly, and wonderful control. I really got my money's worth.
I wonder why this copy of the Mac mod works ok and the original doesn't?
Now, it still works great with the new firmware upgrade, with one exception...
It really won't carry a camera load as well as the old firmware. With a very light camera, it just flipped out at about 50 feet and I broke my first cross.
Thats the only reason I will be downgrading the firmware.

How I wish I had read this forum before letting my iPad upgrade the Drone firmware....
I have the same problem. My McGyver mod does not work with the new firmware, so please, anyone, how do I go back to the earlier firmware?

It only takes a little forum search to find several solutions to downgrading.
Try using dronecontrol.

Thanks, I didn't know that this utility was available....
Anyone know which version works best with McGyver?

Anyone know if there will be an update for the Mac mod?

fyi, i paid the $5 for the drone control app and went back to the suggested firmware - same result. working with mac now on what we should do, something is definitely weird about this circumstance.
