Alternate zip tie landing gear

Post by FEJennings » 18 Apr 2014, 03:32

Trying a new zip tie landing gear mod. Haven't seen this. Using two 11 inch and one 4 inch mini tie and a bit of tape.
Seems to be working well so far.

Here's some pics going through the process. Essential the 2 are cross connected. The small zip tie connects them to the standard feet.
A little tape to pull them together and spread the top so if it does shift up toward the rotor and board it splits around them.

Thoughts.

The phrase 'If it isn't broke..." comes to mind, don't want to sound negative but in my opinion it looks ugly and uses more cable ties so weighs more.

Yep, definitely ugly but functional.

I was actually cutting back from the 3 zip tie configuration.
This cuts down on 1 long zip tie and a whole lot of tape.
The other thing I was going for was a quick fix if it breaks.
There only 1 small zip tie holding it to the leg.

So far, works well. Tried a couple hard landings.

I just use the single large and single small zip tie method, I am trying to figure out a similar method for my RC Logger EYE One Xtreme...
