Mirumod Sketch upload problems

Post by CptKirk » 11 Nov 2017, 18:32

G'day

I bought an Ultra compact MiruMod XR-4Drone v2 Mirumod board from XR-4Drone.
http://www.shop.xr-4drone.com/New-Ultra ... -XR4-2.htm

I followed the manual and have the drone flying with a DX6i Spektrum.
It bound, installed and works well on my power edition Ar 2.0

The board is supposed to update using sketches to modify flight and video recording by using the configurator parameters found here.
http://mirumod.net/tools/sketch_configurator.php

I've followed all instructions but cannot upload a sketch to the board. The vendor posted a video showing the update procedure here.

I get a port busy error or controller not responding failure depending on what board I select in the Arduino programming software found here. Using laptop with Windows 7. Have also tried older versions of the Arduino editor.

I can view the controller parameters in setup mode using hyperterminal which means the port is open and working but not functioning for sketch upload.

I've attached some screenshots of a failed upload attempt. If you have any idea what may be going wrong please feel free to share your wisdom.

The mod works fine including fail safe. The drone flys in all 4 modes and is a great improvement over Android control.

Thanks and cheers all.

Hello, did you try another cable already? Usually a shorter one is better.

Sweet and delicious apps for your drones.

Have used the shortest cable possible and three different ones that all communicate with the mod over hyperterminal showing correct responses from all transmitter inputs.
The drone has the factory sketch loaded and flys in all factory modes.
Trying to upload a new sketch to tone down standard and wild modes and enable USB record in all modes.
Followed every video and all supplier manuals from xr-4drone.com.
The Ardino sketch uploader describes the board as unknown manufacturer when it queries the board so it is talking to the board but fails upload with either a no communication error or a board not responding error yet hyperterminal returns the setup screen functioning while the Arduino uploader says no response.
Firewall and antivirus is shut down while attempting to upload a sketch but no change of behaviour after some 20+ attempts.
Very computer literate with 10 plus years of fixed wing, heli and drone setup and flight.
Have updated firware/software extensively but this mod will not update.

BTW

Thanks for your thoughts on the cable being the showstopper.
Appreciate you assistance.

Hmmmm...
Made me think of something...........
The laptop I use to program my rc hangar has several other manufacturers programmers installed.....Beastx, Spektrum, Align, Castle Bavarian Demon........wonder if they listen to the USB serial port and are conflicting the Arduino updater.
