Here you go, Gary -- I did this flight yesterday -- I probably could have gone further, but 675ft is on the books with my Galaxy Nexus cell phone with the Wheel mod.. no booster and no repeater!
I hope it does you proud :)

This post prompted me to check my wheel mod's tracking. Still enroute with no ETA. Grrr!

Just wondering if you were going to be putting the basic package back in your store. I had already done an antenna mod prior to finding you. Have made a few and bought a few antennas but looking for the weight of yours and can't find just the antenna board anywhere.

What effect would installing the wheel vertically instead of horizontally have?

PM me and we can discuss you needs.

It would not be omni-directional.

Thanks. As you might have guessed, I've got zero idea with regards to antenna function. ;)

Wheel antenna installed, Thanks Garrock for this awesome mod. I did a quick fly yesterday just to see if I have a good wifi signal and everything seams fine, so Garrock its a good idea to mount the wheel antenna like Jayson did?

Mast Mount seems to give the best RF downrange performance.

Bottom Mount is not as good but better than the factory stock antenna.

I've got rid of my booster yesterday to prepare the arrival of the GPS (if it ever gets back into stock again) and I realized, I don't need no damn boosters

plenty of range with bone stock controllerdevice and a lil wheelmast!

boosters = error rates on high temps, error rates on low temps, error rates on low batt power (leared that crap in the last few months -_-) and not to forget all the extra weight ;) (was the main reason for getting rid of it)

What range do you get, and what are the conditions - building density, # of wifi aps nearby, etc?
