Hi all,
I have a brand new Jumping Sumo robot that I'm trying to update firmware for via USB, having some issues.
I turn on my fully charged robot and let it boot. Once front lights turn green I plug the robot into the USB port. Immediately the front lights turn off and the red charge light turns on. Robot powers down, if I unplug it I need to wait for it to boot again.
This goes against the instructions on updating firmware via USB I have seen published. What's going on, and am I or my Windows 7 PC doing something wrong?
Thanks!

Hello and welcome,
usually the update works like this:
1. turn on sumo and connect via usb.
2. copy the firmware update file to the root folder and unplug usb
3. turn off sumo. do not reply usb.
4. turn on sumo and wait for about 6 to 8 minutes.

Re: USB connection turns off the drone
That's exactly the problem... As soon as I plug the on and booted drone to the PC via USB, it shuts off the drone.
Will try with a Linux box instead, if it appears as a normal USB memory device then the OS shouldn't matter...
Otherwise need to do this over wifi?
