Noob wanting best 360° WiFi setup for Bebop2.... Router MOD???

Post by campbell1987 » 05 Jan 2018, 23:52

Hi everyone, I just got my Bebop 2 with sky controller, I am really really impressed with the thing so far but as always nothing is good enough for me and i want more..... I like the idea of having some sort of 360° WiFi antenna fitted to a pole high up on the chimney of my house and also doing some mods to the bebop itself, Seen an antenna upgrade available for them...

Basically i'd like to be able to sit in my livingroom and see what the bebop sees live on my tv and be able to send controls to it for safe flying with no signal loss......
I've no clue where to start. Seen a video on youtube and this forum showing how to do router mod but think i need a more in depth guide..... I need to know what parts to buy and how to set it all up.
I realize I'm asking a lot here so I am even happy to pay someone to take the time to show me properly how to do it and what to get so i dont break it..... This is already my second Bebop2 this month.... Stupid telephone lines.... :o :(

Stay tune. A big revamp for Router Mod is coming within week called [Router Mod 2 - 2018] and will be announced to worldwide. Keep visiting to this sub-forum or subscribe the youtube from Router Mod's homepage. So you will be prompted shortly when it arrives. What I ensure is you can own it this time.

Well, great glad you did it. And you are so smart and figured out it is only half part.
Yes, with the Booster Hull Mod Kit you just purchased today. It solves your drone's side FPV signal problem. the FPV lagging problem is good bye for sure. The video feed about 3-4 times more smoother than your currently stock configuration even somehow as smooth as a TV (no joking). However, it is good if you also to solve the commander side signal problem which is on your SkyShit. Due to RF regulation restriction. Parrot makes SkyShit's radio power can produce only as weak as your stock drone does. So it is good if you also boost your Skyshit signal too. A turnkey proven working solution is called "Martian Booster". It should work on SkyShit 2 too (some Bebop 2 users already reported).

Option 1:
A turnkey proven working solution is called "Martian Booster". It should work on SkyShit 2 too (some Bebop 2 users already reported).

https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-DJI-Phanto ... 2478800289
Option 2:
Another alternative is just like me to use a professional commercial-grade Router. That's another part you sensed not showing in the video. But it requires to patch your drone's firmware and apply an add-on program that is unlikely can be done by you or non-I.T. guy in a regular basis upon each time your drone's firmware is upgraded. It also kills the possibility to use a SC (if you prefer the stock joystick). So it is really for professional only.

So I would prefer you stick to Option 1 even the cost for it is much higher. Good for non-tech users. Once you boosted both ends. Your drone will become a F22 and dominate the aerospace in your flying zone for sure. It can kill DJI too. But be care. Parrot has made a lot of buggy firmware releases to crash your drone. Be sure you test their firmware ok before allowing your drone to go high altitude. Otherwise is a big wast for what you've invested on the hardware.
