Appel or anyone in the USA i have been out of action for 10 weeks now because the suppliers of this product have been developing a new Qav and forget about the many people who already fly the current units,i was told i had to buy a complete kit so i can get 2 dirty frame parts although 1 is available now,the power distribution board how ever is not and cant get an answer if they will be interchangable in new version.{very poor product support for the hundreds already sold and there are many people waiting for spares world wide}
does any one know of anyone who may have new dirty frame parts for sale.
My only other option is to get rid of this platform for another..i dont want Discovery.
hex or oct.?
any ideas,i really love this platform but how people can say support is great is beyond me,i dont mean to whinge but its been far to long.
any help would be fantastic.
regards to all
Mark.

Give up on a big expensive flying rig and go a mini frame. Easy to pack and travel, nearly bullet proof so crashing is considered normal form.

Sorry for the late response Marcus, not checking in here as often lately. Seems most of the gang has moved on to other things or forums.

Anyway, Cinetank is supposedly a really nice frame, but a bit on the expensive side. I love my Flip FPV for durability (a few hard crashes and no damage to the frame whatsoever so far) although getting rid of the Jello was a pain. I finally eliminated the Jello by adding an isolation mount and using two layers of double sided anti-vibration tape (one to attach the isolation mount to the frame and one to attach the camera to the mount). Supposedly the pro version eliminates the jello problem with an isolation mount.

Anyway, I can't speak for cinetank support although I've heard good things about them, but hoverthings is rarely out of stock on stuff for long and there are quite a few alternate suppliers of their gear.

I think Daza is right though, my next purchase is going to be a mini. The flip has been a blast for long distance beach flying (long distance for me is about 1.5 kilometers) while I've been on vacation, but the vast majority of my flying at home is short distance proximity stuff and the flip has too much inertia to be good for that (at least with the naza FC).

Anyway, kinda went on a ramble there. long story short, the Flip FPV Pro and Cinetank are two pretty good alternatives to the QAV.

Yep totally agree. My 400s are gathering dust. I put a gimbal on the qav400 for when I really want that perfect shot but the mini is so much more fun. Building a Spanky now on 4s. Should get 10 mins flight times I'm told.

Thanks to you both for replys.

You wernt rambling Mav ,I took it all in. Its always good to hear what you all have to say and what everyones thoughts are and to get advise on this site from you all has only made my change to this platform all that much better. I will check Cinetank out.

Today Get Fpv. contacted me after some heavy E-mails and frame parts have been sent.
For some reason i am hooked on this platform and when im home i still get a huge rush from it,it gives me hours of relaxation and joy, crash as they do its been a long wait and this time wondered if i should change..Not to be.

Appel that race was great and that person on straight Well after almost being hit by you the first time and im suprised they let him there....but i can see the second time he would have been hit and may well have been very nasty.....But i must ask did you crash it to avoid the obvious collision which was certain?????. :shock

Don't get me wrong, no reason to shelf the bigger quads! I still fly mine. There are things you can do with them that you can't with a mini. They go higher and farther and faster. They don't feel as fast though. You need both :)

As for the crash, I think I did panic a bit when I saw him. I didn't have any time to think and just went down. If I had pulled up it might have been worse. It was def too dangerous and we all agreed after not to allow that again at future races which we are planning.

Here's the vid from his point of view:

Long time sinse last post, still flying same quad, hasnt missed a beat have been using the new multistar 10c 6600 battery today well all i can say is perfection, quad weight at 1.95 kg and total flight time today with fpv going was 23.32 minutes, lipo alarm set at 3.50 volts, using 11x3.7 props, battery temp out 16 deg temp on landing 24 deg cant complain about the performance either, cant see why so many have problems with them, and i might add that was constant flying not hovering.

Multistar batterys still working a treat well worth the investment, using the 6600mah.
