Post by VizionAir » 12 Oct 2010, 00:12

Hi,

I'm sure that you'll be glad to know the existence of a mod shop for Ar Drone !

You'll find a lot of things like SKF Precision ball-bearings and more at :

ok these handle 11,000rpm at 120C and sealed but ouch.

They're nearly the same price as my ABEC 9's for my skateboard!
Even a Team Xray full bearing kit is slightly less(after exchange rate) and there's 24 of them.

Mmmm, it's 110 000 rpm... 124 000 for lubs

Your comparison is not with the same size, compare something equal... search prices for these quality and these size... Look at the link, the price for standard quality for this so little size !!!

Quality always having a price...

Otherwise, you could find protection kit for 5€, and soon 1m of double sided tape, thin and transparent one, 30N of joining force after 24h (as PARROT one but 10x+ of material) for the same price...

Sorry, I'm not trying to bash you for running a store, everyone needs a living and I do sincerely hope you get very popular with your site, I'm just trying to make you understand that these bearings are overkill.

One full set of the cheap bearings is only GBP6.40. I can get three sets for the price of one of yours and have change, and as bearing don't all die at the same time the saving from just having the cheap bearings is huge in comparison.

What you have found are some seriously high grade bearings, that I believe wouldn't make any difference over the cheaper open bearings.

I bet that if you stocked the open bearings in packs of ten or twelve so there are spares then these would be a lot more popular and people would have spares and would return to purchase other products at a later date.

No worries, I like the exchanges ;) it makes you learn every day, life be sad without...

You're quite right, I should just be thinking of proposing this type of bearing, also cheap.

Personally, I'm from RC electric car world, and it is ceramic, forced on my CRC, is also not given ... but so smooth and longlive... Comparison is difficult.

It exactly as the bearings for differencial, you could find 100balls in steel for 10$, but only 8 in ceramic for the same price...

I used to be RC 1/10th car racer about 7 years ago. Team Xray T1r was all I drove. Loved it and would love another someday.

Bearing on them transmission systems are a completely different thing altogether as it's one 540 size motor running 4WD and the bearings add drag.
Please don't mention ball diff to me!!lol, They are great when setup perfectly, but they're a pain to get right.

I will be putting up a weblink to you site in the links page so others can find your goodies. I'll add you tomorrow and PM you, I have to sleep now.

Thank you very much Symon,

I'll show you the best way to setup a ball diff when you got your next car ;) 1/10 Pan cars are the bests for that (team losi xxxs g+ was my first car but 4x4 not so fun when you taste GT class :) :) )

Ok, so good night ! i'm insomniac sometimes as you can see... Waiting answers from usa and india industrial companies to made stainless steel axles for our drone !!

By the way, in the shop, don't look the colors of graphics or vinyls for drones, for the moment. All is soon available in 40 colors, 20 matt and 20 brilliant ;)

Bye bye

2 times in 2 weeks... Always after post on this forum...

Some assholes are bored ? Jalousie ?

Don't do that, little boy, come and see where I live before, 80% of my neighbors are Turkish, Arabian, etc... Muslim anyway... Racism ? Nobody can teach me that... It's in your mind...

It's a shame to use children for the war, if your message is here, but i doubt of that... And this little child that you place in photo, have certainly more courage than you...

Shame on YOU...
