Pilots in Suffolk/Norfolk

Post by mac7618 » 20 Dec 2011, 12:41

Hi to all the pilots out there
Well had my eye on the ar drone for a while and thought hell yeah I gotta get me 1 of those
So got 1 for the son for Christmas and 1 for myself ( well we all know what it's like wit a rc toy - its better if your mate has 1 lol )
Had a wee practice indoors before wrapping em and wow can't wait to terrorise my estate :)
Right well I'm 33 my sons 13 and we live in Suffolk England near bury st Edmunds and have access to a HUGE unused military airfield and access to MASSIVE indoor flight hangars pretty much when ever we want - so as well as introductions - looking to see if there's any local pilots lookin for meets/somewhere/some1 to fly
As I said we're in the bury st Edmunds area right on the Suffolk Norfolk boarder between bury st eds and Thetford
See you in the skies

Hope to see you all around

I must admit when looking into the drone I watched a lot of YouTube vids and saw a lot of ppl using them in gardens streets and at the park ..........and usually alone .....
Here I have an the country side an air field and 5 hangars to play in - each hangar is 150x300 meters and about 60 high with permission to use and keys.......and some stuff to use as obstacles and cover :)
Will upload some vids after Christmas
But if your ever heading this way drop a message - the airfields quite often used by some VERY geeky toys
Which actually reminds me ........ Now I probably am gonna get both paid apps for the iPhone ( got free flight and used it when testing drone in hangar - before firmware update (1.7.10?)
But also gonna get drone ace and flight record.
From what I've gathered free flight is the all rounder
Drone ace is best for control at the sacrifice of video feed
And flight record has better video feed but not as sharp on the controls
Is this the case ??
What's the best all rounder (with video record - able to fly fpv )
Many thanks guys

Hello fellow droners. I'm near the mildenhall area. Would be cool to get out with some other ar drone flyers as the wind calms and it heats up a bit. Anyone in he area interested let me know.

Will
