Re: Barometric altimeter connected through the ultrasound in

holy smoke! :D just returned home after a quite long flight without any communication problems in my experimental software - piloting a drone above the ultrasound range without having to constantly keep an eye on the altitude is a wonderful experience for someone who spent hours on ardrone 1.0 learn...

HeathM_2.0 wrote:The only thing that I'm not sure of is that the discharge rate is 25c (ar drone batteries are 20c), so I don't know if that has a negative effect on the drone's components
no, the increased discharge rate is always an advantage (means the battery is able to supply more current)

Re: 720p - maybe a little exagerated.?

More than likely its technically 720p as stated by its resolution. But like a cheap smartphone you're biggest problem in picture quality is the tiny size of the sensor and the horrible plastic lens. tiny sensor, tiny lens and but also the aggressive compression algorithm that must squeeze much more...

Re: MacGyver RC kit is out for the 2.0

Does anyone knows if MacGyver kit for Parrot 2.0 supports the absolute control piloting? i guess that most rc transmitters do not have have magnetic sensors and can't support it... from what i know this is called "carefree" in the RC world. i'm sure RC people here will correct me if i'm wrong (i ne...

Re: question about AR Drone 1 bottom camera

If I cover the bottom cam for the AR dron1, will it cause stability issues? it could even improve stability in some cases :) and this is not a joke! the drone CPU is seriously underpowered and approaches 100% load when looking at particularly complex patterns (rarely found in the wild). another adv...

Re: Can you flip a Ver 1.0 ??

And the source is posted above? I'd be willing to contribute or at the very least leech so long as your license allows for it. i'm not publishing anything yet, at least until i make all the intended features work at least once ;) so i can be sure it is all doable before deciding on the final form o...

Re: Ok now we have drone 2.0 ,so whats next ?

They just need to put some more ultrasonic sensors on the sides and above the drone.. ;) yeah, maybe this could be a part of the solution :) but learning from how the drone reacts on various terrain types, the sensors would have to be much more sophisticated, perhaps something like bats radar - abl...

Re: Ok now we have drone 2.0 ,so whats next ?

yeah, i wonder what would be the next move from parrot. the original ardrone was marketed mainly as "flying video game", but they learned that people enjoy high flying and filming more than playing shooter games and the new drone seems to fix some of the drawbacks in this area (better camera, better...

Re: Can you flip a Ver 1.0 ??

By hacked control program are you referring to program.elf or the remote frontend? i called it a "modified firmware", but in fact this is an additional module running on the drone and changing the way program.elf works (the program.elf itself is not modified) the drone can be still controlled using...

AR.Drone 1.0 performing a flip + prospects of manual control

i peeked beyond the "too much angle emergency" sign, and there is a whole new world of manual control, out there :) IDMlYSdr7B4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDMlYSdr7B4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; yesterday i told you about my first 1.0 flip, but of course it's not the flip what...

Re: Did I do something wrong?

The total loss of directional control may well be unique to the RC mod, but the 'emergency' command still worked. :? i would guess the RC mod does not deliberately block steering (why should it) but it could have been a (mod) malfunction or the whole thing varies between drone firmware versions (mi...

Can you flip a Ver 1.0 ??

Where can I get the new control application??? :D :D It will be published in the AppStore when it is ready :) Or, at least I hope it will be ever good enough to be published... the unfortunate communication loss during my today test flight was probably caused by my drone firmware modification. And ...

Did I do something wrong?

It's always best to fly to below 3m before hitting the land button. Once you start the landing sequence, you are committed to it, and have no control until the drone is on the ground. If you start to drift with the wind you cannot do anything about it. It's not that bad, in fact you CAN steer while...
