Re: Modified FreeFlight 2.4.10 APK with game controller supp

The only reason I've done this was because my Wikipad wasn't supported natively, so I had to trick the app into thinking that Wikipad was a Shield.

If the Shield works natively and flies great out of the box, what exactly are you trying to achieve?

Re: Modified FreeFlight 2.4.10 APK with game controller supp

Ok, so the first link at the Parrot forums is about using Nvidia Game Mapper to translate the buttons and joystick inputs to touchscreen presses. This means Shield is not supported natively by FreeFlight 3, exactly as I suspected. It also means that none of the issues at hand here about deadzones an...

Re: Modified FreeFlight 2.4.10 APK with full controller supp

Confused by this:"yawed in the wrong direction, so it's disabled by default." So you have permanently disabled this? Sorry, I should have explained it better but didn't want to go too deep into technical details. There is a "progressive command" AT*PCMD that is sent repeatedly to the drone with the...

Re: Change the Descent Speed?

I know it's not really an answer to your question, but what I usually do is bring the drone manually to about 0.5 m altitude before pressing the land button. Also, fun fact: there is a timer on the drone that starts when you initiate landing, and if the drone does not reach the ground in a preset ti...

Re: Bluetooth Controller?

Sure, if you add the whole bluetooth stack (BlueZ) and recompile the kernel with required drivers, then add a daemon that receives the commands over BT and forwards them to program.elf... Sure, why not :D A while ago I had a similar idea to plug in the tiny USB receiver from a Logitech W710 wireless...

Re: installing flight recorder drivers on windows 7

The drivers on the USB disk portion of the device are unsigned and outdated. Try these instead: https://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pag ... ivers.aspx

Re: Modified FreeFlight 2.4.10 APK with full controller supp

I flew w/my ps3 controller , and when i pressed the L3 button (click on the left joypad, to turn out ground stabiliation) my AR.Drone freaked out and started to spin. After a 360° everything was fine, stabilisation was disabled. Hm. The 360° does sound like magnetometer calibration to me. The dro...

Re: Modified FreeFlight 2.4.10 APK with full controller supp

1. Accelerometer mode is just like control with a normal phone/tablet where you direct the drone by tilting your device, but instead of touching the screen, you hold the shoulder button. Of course, you can still use touchscreen controls too, but that can be really unwieldy on a Shield. The differenc...

Re: Modified FreeFlight 2.4.10 APK with full controller supp

Hey Eric, I'm glad you like it :D Regarding ps3 controller, I don't own one, so I can't say for sure. I remember reading somewhere that your device needs to be rooted, but that information might be outdated. Basically, if your controller works in other apps or games natively (i.e., without emulating...

Re: Flight Recorder "on the cheap"

I've tried both WiFi and Serial connections (by plugging the dongle directly into my PC) I think you've probably confused the protocol that the drone uses to talk to ground control station (MAVLink over wifi) with the protocol for talking to the GPS stick (SiRF binary over USB serial). Plugging the...

Re: Minimum hardware required to connect to app

I'd like to read your research findings, but honestly, there's no security in drone at all. There's no WPA or even WEP. There is an unofficial project (https://github.com/daraosn/ardrone-wpa2) that adds wireless encryption, but it works only in client mode (that is, drone has to connect to another a...

Re: Sport cross w/stock prop shaft fitment issue

Last year I had the same problem with 2 sets of shafts and gears. Out of 4 shafts each, 1 had a small bulge at the bottom, preventing it to fit in the bearing. Even with stock bronze bushings the fit was just too tight. I ended up sending the shafts back and getting a replacement. Perhaps yours came...

Re: Anyone replace stock camera w/ higher res? [AR.Drone2.0]

Sorry, that is not possible. If you change the camera with higher resolution, you'll also need to replace the CPU and DSP with something fast enough to process increased data stream, not to mention a new firmware that is aware of new camera and has drivers for it. As you go through this process, you...

Re: Using syslog.bin to find problem with nav board

Your log does not reveal any particular problem. As the message "Ultrasound emergency" suggests, the problem probably lies not with the navboard but with the ultrasound sensor. I had a similar problem when the drone suddenly lost power and dropped straight down from 10 m height. The force of the cra...
