Re: About to toss two AR Drones in the trash...frustrated

can you post pics of the props with what you've done? and maybe a youtube link to a video showing the problem in flight? I've owned 3 of them and I've never observed any issues like you've described. I'd have to assume you are missing a step or just doing something wrong otherwise..

no doubt. You need a new motor.

Re: daylight orientation LEDs?

I would suggest you look into a flashing strobe as in a real glass xenon tube with a small circuit.. a flashing white LED will work less effectively -- and put it on the back of it.

Re: Mirumod and GPS

hey you know what -- if the number was 2 or 10 or 30 it doesn't matter -- because that's a drop in the bucket -- most people wouldn't even bother trying to explain the situation on a forum, let alone, attempt to engage in a decent conversation online about their experience. I would bet that if it we...

Re: Mirumod and GPS

dude seriously? I am not making up anything. (in re-reading what I wrote earlier, alright hundreds is an exaggeration on the posts' count) but a few months ago I went through the threads and read dozens of posts reporting similar behavior that WENT UNANSWERED. Both on RCgroups, and here. Yeah I post...

Re: Mirumod and GPS

Pawelsky, saying that is simply a cop out. The point here is that NO WHERE is it officially stated and CLEARLY explained that the mod will auto-land when connection is lost -- especially when TRYING to use WIFI (FPV) at the same time -- which is still to this day touted as a feature -- which it abso...

Re: Mirumod and GPS

In case of signal loss the Mirumod will autoland the drone to prevent flyaway. ..which means, it could land in the water, land in a very tall tree, or land out of sight and never be seen again, or worse. Fly in a very large and open field or park and problem solved... *yawn*.. Also, every time I en...

Re: Mirumod and GPS

as an owner of two drones with the compact mirumod with GPS (xr-4drone).. I can tell you that after a lot of tinkering, that the only thing it did was log the gps data to a datafile on the drone (not to any connected usb).. it was otherwise useless. I had to telnet to the drone to copy the datafile ...

Re: Big trouble

I would remove the bottom cover, remove the screws holding the motherboard down, and look to ensure that the white motors connector is seated all the way in.. you might want to disconnect the bottom camera ribbon and the nav board ribbon to give you more room.. but it sounds like that connector isn'...

Re: Multiple Attempts before successful prop test

it is normal for the lights to stay red after a boot if the drone was last in an emergency state (like when you crash or tilt the drone too far when it is on).. even if lights are red you should be able to connect with the application and see the error state

Re: Phantom 2 Vision Plus... *5/21 update* ... Flytrex Core

Love it! hopefully the core won't create any noise that affects the wifi with it being "that close" to the antenna on that side.

Re: Phantom 2 Vision Plus... *5/1 update* ... [prop tuning]

Ooooo... looks like native datalogging has been implemented! (probably needs the latest firmware though..) http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2141332&page=170 I was thinking about a flytrex too, but that'd be unnecessary now.. (except to join in the competition with the website awards e...

Re: Mirumod - mysterious fly-away?

Yup.. I lost two AR's this way. You cannot reliably continue to use the WIFI device while using the RC mod.. they are both on 2.4ghz and will trigger either a fail-safe AUTO-LAND in the drone, or you'll randomly just lose control.. I wish I knew this before buying my 2nd one.. would have saved me an...

double check your props.. they have to be in the right places, and there are two types.. one set is clock-wise and the other are counter-clock-wise

Re: Phantom 2 Vision Plus... *5/1 update* ... [prop tuning]

I guess the jury is still really out on that AK.. these batteries have all the balancing electronics built into each one.. it's not just a few cells.. I don't know that anyone has had to truly replace a battery from over-use or misuse yet.. but there have been defective ones..BUT.. $160 is indeed cr...
