The P4 uses DJI LightBridge 2.4ghz radio technology. So, I can't repeat it.Dirtdroner wrote:Garrock, when are you going to come up with a redbird style repeater for the P4? I need to run one up the flag pole to get over my trees!

Re: Question on bottom camera
It appears something is in the way of the bottom looking camera image.oldjarhead46 wrote:Hi,
Any suggestions?
The image must not be obstructed or else the drone will be confused and not be able to hover lock into position.

Re: Radio channels
If you put a 5.8 FPV transmitter and camera on AR Drone would it interfere with drones WIFI? Probably not much interference. The downside is you will not see any of the drones telemetry downlink data in the 5.8ghz goggles. (eg battery level, air speed, altitude, etc) Plus... the AR Drone would be c...

Lots of people have installed the Mod.

Are you looking for extra distance?

Re: Wheel Antenna Mod - significant WiFi performance upgrade
Its been 3 1/2 years since I created the AR Drone Wheel Antenna Kit. And, the antenna kit amazingly keeps on selling world wide. The AR Drone is STILL the lowest total cost of ownership solution to experience real FPV style flight. Even tiny little islands in the South Pacific show up on my global ...

I recommend choosing the "Special". Send in your Main Board and I'll take care of modifying it.thecraighammond wrote:... Garrock which of the two (?) on your site would be best to buy?

Re: Mirumod
Increasing the control range does not get you one extra foot of FPV distance since the video downlink is a far higher priority. In fact, adding another 2.4ghz radio system (MiruMod and transmitter) can only decrease the 2.4ghz WiFi radio receive sensitivity inside the drone and phone-device. This me...

I went straight to the top http://www.wa5vjb.com/products7.html Theyre the exact same ones that http://www.dronemod.com sell. http://www.shop.dronemod.com/Wheel-Antenna-Kit-AR-Drone-014-4.htm i bought a couple of the 2.4GHz wheels. you have to source the connectors and mast from elsewhere (most lik...

The Mod Procedure you performed was not the Wheel Antenna Mod.humortal wrote:Hello.

I did the procedure - significant WiFi performance upgrade and then the WIFI signal are unstable.

Re: MiruMod and WiFi wheel antenna
I don't recommend it. If your interest is flying further via FPV, then the weakest link is the video downlink. The Miru Mod won't gain you one extra foot of FPV distance. Adding the Miru Mod means adding another 2.4ghz radio system to the mix which can only weaken the receive sensitivity of the WiFi...

Re: Wheel Antenna Mod - significant WiFi performance upgrade
*** HAPPY HOLIDAYS *** The AR Drone Wheel Antenna Mod Kit is still selling world wide. I thought it would fad away early last year as new drones entered the marketplace; but apparently the AR Drone is still selling. I have vicariously relived my first AR Drone flight through hundreds of wheel anten...

Re: AR Drone 2.0 is worthless
Never lost any of my AR Drones.
Always used WiFi. An RC mod wont get you one extra foot of downrange distance. If you cant see it or loose the wifi video downlink, then you can be in trouble anyway.
Regularly flew 3300 feet downrange and back:

Re: Antennas for boosting
... most of the time he is flying and omnidirectional antenna(on AR.Drone) i think is better . Yes... the AR.Drone's antenna should be omni-directional. However, no antenna is perfect. Being directly under or over an antenna is typically its weakest location. A stock AR Drone's built-in antenna has...

Most Android or iOS devices are Horizontal RF polarity when held in landscape mode. The AR Drones stock antenna is also Horizontal RF Polarity So is the Wheel Antenna. Horizontal and Vertical RF polarity's are Linear RF Polarization. A Clover Leaf is Circular RF Polarized. You inherently loose 3dB w...
