Re: Why use Gopro cameras and not Keychain ones?

and i wonder if GoPro could be stripped down to save weight. of course it depends on how much of its weight is crucial components like lens and electronics.
anyone tried doing this?

Re: AR.Drones in an ad-hoc network?

Does anyone know if the drones can be modified to connect in an ad-hoc network? I am thinking of having multiple drones flying and sharing data between each other. Has anyone tried this? i'm sure this is possible, the ad-hoc mode was the default wifi mode before they switched to infrastructure for ...

iPad Absolute control is reversed on iPad but not iphone

mpilot wrote:however the using the iPad in absolute mode the control is reversed so titling towards you the drone goes away from you, tilting left it goes right.
try switching to the other landscape mode (that is, rotate the iPad 180 degrees and lock it in this orientation)

Re: possibility of gps guidance

The short answer is that the FY31AP is an autopilot that is fully programmed out of the box, and already has a very nice Google Earth based program for using on the PC you set it up with. I'd rather write a code to translate it's airplane commands to AR Drone commands, than to attempt to program al...

Re: possibility of gps guidance

but if you want something truly plug&play then i guess there are FY31AP-like devices built specifically for helicopters, simply use one of them :) (and the control would be more natural for a drone, not forcing you to fly forward all the time)

Re: possibility of gps guidance

How about you install the RC mod, but with a gap in between the arduino and the rc receiver, and in between you put one of these: http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=61&products_id=758" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; interesting twist :D yes, i'm s...

Re: Drone Control HD for iPad BUG !!!!!!

seriously - this is not DC's fault, that's how the parrot's firmware works. i wonder if they are going to change this behavior, there is so much criticism on this subject recently. it happened to me at least twice, and in both cases the drone would crash anyway (while trying to level) even if the en...

Re: possibility of gps guidance

mission accomplished! today, for the first time, the drone has returned to me in reaction to quitting the ipad application. the emergency return procedure first waits a few seconds holding the drone in place (giving you a chance to come closer and regain control), then it navigates to the last known...

Re: A discovery, why you may need to set flat trim each flig

So does this not suggest a trim is needed before a flight if you intend on flying high? You seem to not be able to explain, why I only get a height reading when I trim, the simple answer is you need a trim the pressure sensor, else how can you explain it then? i don't know if it is really required ...

Re: A discovery, why you may need to set flat trim each flig

The second flight did not do a flat trim and no height showed, still showed zero, yet was around half a meter off the ground, so landed, and did the flat trim and what did you know, took off again and showed the height. the experiment would be more interesting if you proceeded to the end - climb be...

Re: Why you should use Orginal AR Drone 2.0 battery

Just so we're all on the same page regarding this alleged protection circuitry on the 2.0 battery: (cut battery striptease) THE QUESTION: what is the weight of the battery plastic shell? i wonder if you could gain flying time by dropping it! and knowing the weight of the "naked" battery, i wonder h...

Re: MaxAmps 1300 mAh review

We should all be commending Parrot for the great battery design and charger. i think the general opinion is that the original batteries are too heavy for their capacity (or too weak for the weight :)) (probably because of the extra plastic case) but i must admit i like the idea of getting rid of th...

Re: possibility of gps guidance

Do you see it being a diy project, like building a mirumod rc conversion, or is it too complicated for us mere mortals? If so do you have plans to start producing these yourself for retail? i don't plan to produce anything (except from software) but of course the full description will be published ...

Re: possibility of gps guidance

oh, the joys of prototyping! :P after the latest tweaks, gps started working pretty well and i was going to perform the hair-raising "return to base" test (by disconnecting wifi and letting the drone do whatever it wants :o ), then suddenly, the pressure sensor failed... i guess it is because of the...
