Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod

so what you're saying is no way to make use of parrot ar AR.Drone sensor board/technology in any other quad but an ardrone? can't swap and make use of aftermarket motor esc or rx tx? what about the shitty central cross/frame couldn't it be replaced with a carbon fiber . A quadcopter consists of a f...

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod

you might be interest in these youtubes they both seem to be BIGGER BADDER AR DRONES No, they are not. Neither of those is an AR Drone. First off, the one in the machine gun video doesn't have a single AR Drone part on it, and the one depicted as firing has been debunked as faked CG footage. In the...

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod

The method that works involves one board that reads all four motor throttle values being output by the AR Drone, compares them to each other to get what the current differences are for pitch, yaw, roll, and average throttle percentage, and then uses that to re-mix into four new throttle values at a ...

Re: The TV show I flew my FLIRcopter on may debut on Dec 15t

Just ordered a 3D printer this morning. I've gotten big into r/c rock crawlers this summer/fall, something refreshingly new and challenging without so much of the rapid crashing into the ground that my aircraft liked to do. The r/c crawlers are slow and just kind of tip over. It's fun to get out and...

The TV show I flew my FLIRcopter on may debut on Dec 15th!

Yeah I'm not on this forum anymore really, I know, but for the time back when I was, and when I had been involved with flying a quadcopter with a FLIR camera on it for a TV show being filmed, I just wanted to follow up and let you guys know it sounds like that show will debut on December 15th on the...

Re: My new radio, FrSky Taranis

I finally got my HDMI video capture device working (Roxio GameCap HD Pro) and took a sample video of what the view from my FPV jeep is like. I really enjoy driving it, probably spent an hour at my friend's house swapping back and forth driving around the neighborhood. When the receivers are outside ...

Re: My new radio, FrSky Taranis

Over the winter, I also converted my Kyosho Nitro Blizzard to electric. The first attempt was crude and did not work well. But at least it lit on fire. _YIPH6pyP1I The second attempt, using the actual Kyosho motor mount from their EP-version of the Blizzard and with a brushless motor kit, achieved t...

Re: My new radio, FrSky Taranis

I've just been very busy with work, and cold weather has put a damper on many ambitions. I've been using my Oculus Rift with my recently acquired Transporter3D and a pair of cameras on 600mw 5.8ghz transmitters, mounted on a pan/tilt that follows the head tracking. The stereo video (each being Stand...

My new radio, FrSky Taranis

I know I'm not really around here much anymore, but I figured y'all might get a kick out of this. I don't know how to program any mixes yet, or even set things like dual rate switches or assign knobs / toggles to channels 5-8 (or up to 32 channels using the right receivers!) but what did I do first?...

Re: $200 prize for whoever can make this mod

I never used the actual potentiometers, I just adjusted the variables in the sketch (TGAIN, YGAIN etc) and did not set the potentiometer option to enabled. Mostly, I was just incredibly lucky that my combination of motors, props, aircraft mass and inertial characteristics all happened to match with ...

Re: Drones can steal what's on your cell phone

That same technology of stealing data could also be put in dildo's, frisbees, clothing for dogs, and a variety of other objects owned by most forum members here. The fact one electronic module which can hack phones happened to be stuck to an r/c multicopter (or OMFG ITSA DRONE! as this article's mou...

AR Drone is like a bicycle, if I drink too much the next day I end up wondering how it got all the way up in that tree.

Re: 2014 Wish Lists

I don't have the bandwidth here at work to check, but from what I remember, Transporter3D uses a pair of cameras on a board which then transmits your regular analog standard-def signal, but every other frame is LRLRLR, and then the receiving unit divides this out and puts the frames side by side, fo...
