Re: First real flight. TOTAL SUCCESS

Thank-You Paul. I fly out in the wilderness of New Brunswick. I plan on using the Bebop 2 as a moose scouting tool and also to find those hidden fishing spots. It should be no problem for me to max out my distances as there are many bald hills that overlook valleys in this part of the world. I will ...

First real flight. TOTAL SUCCESS

Due to a death in the family and taking care of my fathers estate my first flight was delayed by a few months. I had been able to take short get used to the controls flights around the house but that was it. Until yesterday that is. I went early in the morning as that is when the wind is at it's cal...

Re: SkyController 2 battery problem

Good luck Jack, hope all works out with what you’re doing. I have a couple of Sky controllers with the same cylinder type battery, eventually replaced battery with a couple of rechargeable Lipo batteries mounted Parallel and charge these replacement batteries with another charger. This solved my is...

Re: SkyController 2 battery problem

I checked the battery again last night. even flew for a couple of minutes and the battery is holding the charge. It has now dropped to 91% but that is expected with use in this very cold weather. -10C when I flew. I also tried a new to me reconditioned Parrot (2700) battery and it checked out good a...

SkyController 2 battery problem

I have been testing my Bebop 2 around the house just to get used to it. One thing I noticed was I could not get the controller battery to charge any more than 48% and it would drain very quickly when I used it. It would also discharge if the battery sat for a couple of days. I did some reading and f...

Re: Sky Controller2 & Bebop 2

2) Yes, I've been using a Samsung Galaxy Tab II with the SC2 for a while. It fits well. Sorry about the thread hijack. Waterlanding, what are you using to connect your Tab 2 to the skycontroller 2? My Tab 2 has a 30 pin USB and does not recognize the Skycontroller 2. I use a standard USB 2.0 cable....

Re: Sky Controller2 & Bebop 2

First question: Is it easier to fly with a Sky Controller 2 than a Tablet? I currently use my Samsung Galaxy Tab2 tablet. I find it difficult to get a good feel by having a smooth screen. There's no real feel as to how much I'm moving the controller pads. Would the control sticks allow for better c...

Batteries

I wouldn't mind having a second battery so I can have twice the flight time in a morning. What is the scoop on the larger capacity batteries that you see on ebay? Are they any good? Should you stay away from them? They are a lot cheaper then the OE batteries. Like this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/...

Re: First Flight / return to home questions

Thanks AR Tommy,

I was worried if it went straight down in the places I plan to fly come spring, I would be looking for a drone in a tree. Even at that I think it might be very wise to use the RTH button sparingly.

First Flight / return to home questions

I couldn't wait any longer and went out in the -12C weather and took my first flight. The most important thing is, I didn't crash it. It was only a short flight of 4 1/2 minutes around my yard. I am in a very rural area so there are lots of trees and very few people to hit. It was more of a get to k...

Re: First Drone

Thanks guy's. I have the Bebop 2 all set to go. It's -12 C here right now so I think I will hold off until it's a little warmer for it's first real flight outside. I had it up and flying in the house, but that was kind of cramped. I didn't even hurt anything. lol

Re: Skycontroller 2 Update 1.0.9 Help

I was having trouble updating my SC 2 as well. Charged everything up to 100% and the update installed right away and after going through the calibration process the SC 2 works perfect. Thanks for the info in this thread. Now to get outside and actually fly this Bebop 2 where I can learn how to fly. ...

First Drone

I took the plunge today and bought a Bebop2 from Best Buy. I know they are discontinued but for the price it was about the only one I could find that would do what I want. I have only unpacked it and downloaded the app. Maybe in a day or two I will take my first flight in the back yard.
