My FPV cam also gets quite hot after some time.
Could you insert the card without problems? Contacts facing down and pushed into the slot as far as possible?
Formatting with FAT32 is ok.

How? Using the controller together with your smartphone.
That's the normal way to control Mambo FPV with controller and to watch the life feed on the smartphone.

Ideas? Not really after your description.
Perhaps a reset of Mambo (holding the on/off button) will help!?

Drivers, Mac, PC doesn't have anything to do with your problem. Flying 10s, flip, hit the ground: How does this happen exactly? You are able to connect, fly 10s normally? That means you can stear your drone left, right, up, down for 10s? What means "flip"? Upside down? Or spinning? Mambo FPV or Miss...

No, the newest firmware doesn't make Mambos flip.
