Main Board Chip Identification Help Needed

Today I mistakenly plugged an aftermarket battery in reversed and started a small fire on the main board for my drone (I knew the loose battery connection would bite me eventually.) Upon inspection, the boards look good aside from one chip that went up in smoke. Since replacement main boards don't seem to be available I figured I would look into replacing just the fried chip.

Can anyone take a look and tell me the marking on the 8 pin chip labled "Q1700"? Mine is charred beyond recognition.

Ahhh you beat me to it, although I found the same.

Good luck soldering a new one. You gonna heat gun it or go brave and use an iron? Personally I would go with a small heat gun with cold air flow on the underside as not to damage the components on the reverse of the board.

Yep, just found the same datasheet =) With luck I can scrounge an equivalent transistor to work with.

I have an iron with very precise temp control, so I was just going to take my chances.
I will be sure to report on this once its fixed (optimism ;) )

Any word back on the repair. Made the same mistake with my Drone on the weekend... Have some aftermarket batteries and the connecters a bit larger then the Drone connecter. They can still be connected but I plugged in backwards...

Anyways.. Wondering how the repair went for you? Going to order up a couple of the chips to see if I can do the repair. Chips are less the $2 each compared to the motherboard from Parrot at $100....

Any advice or suggestions on the repair is appreciated!

Thought I would throw out a quick update... Ordered up the part from Digikey. Soldered up the chip.. Right back to where I was... There is more damage somewhere in the power circuit.. I am sure with a good meter, time and a scope someone could map out the power supply circuitry but I don't have the time... New Motherboard ordered. Just go to put it all back together now..

As you can imagine running reverse polarity through a complex circuit that doesn't have battery-side reverse polarity protection is probably going to take out a lot more than a diode. Alas. If it were me, I wouldn't even bother trying to diagnose the board and just get another one. They come up for sale on ebay from time to time. or you could just try sending the drone back to parrot for an out of warranty repair.
