Where are you from? What things do you like to do or see? Will you be driving yourself or catching buses/trains etc?

Ayers Rock is cool. The local Aborigines request that you don't climb it, but I did anyway as climbing it was a long time ambition so I wasn't going to cancel it after I'd gone all the way there just to climb it.

The only other general thing I can think of is that Australia is BIG, we don't have a lot of people here so it's a long way between cities and towns. I'd highly suggest that you buy a car from a departing traveler and sell it again when you leave. Either that or rent one for your stay. There are coaches that go to most places, but a car makes everything a lot more accessible.

Camper vans are really popular for travellers. They are a really good way to see the country, but a bit of a hassle in the cities. I see wicked campers (google it) everywhere, but I am told with a little more research you can get cheaper vans with the same quality and features.
