Swann HD Bullet Cam

Post by coppertubing » 30 May 2012, 19:38

I picked up this camera at 1dealaday awhile ago for $83 to mount on my new Drone 2.0. It can do 1280 x 720 @ 30 fps and weighs just 44g. The bullet shape allows for much flexibility in mounting. In fact, the space in the outdoor hull above the forward camera looks like it was made to stick this camera in, although it is not quite centered there. I chose to mount it underneath on a small wedge of packing foam using velcro and foam tape - simple, cheap and effective. And I can vary the angle by adding more wedges. My test videos appear very stable with no vibration effects. I'm still waiting for my first outdoor flight and then I'll post up some videos.

Looks good. Will be interesting to see how it compares to the onboard camera.

How did it turn out? I am looking at replacing the camera for the AR Drone 2.

Does it fly the same?
Can you still look at the video recorded through your iPad?
Is there at true 1080 camera that is the same size and weight as the HD Bullet Cam?

Thank you
