Re: Drone Control HD for iPad - compatible with AR.Drone 1 a
Hi Tommy, is there any reason why I couldn't get Absolute control working with either Drone Control app on my iPad yesterday but the Parrot app worked ok?

I tried first with the HD version, took off and did the compass calibrate which made the drone do it's 360 spin.
I then turned 90 degrees but instead of it flying sideways away from me it went left.
I tried again with the universal app, this did the same thing.
I tried again with the parrot app, this worked ok in that I had "absolute control" over the drone.
I am probably missing pressing a switch in the software somewhere?

By pressing the calibration button you do not choose absolute control, you are only calibrating the compass of the AR.Drone.
Which control mode number did you select above?

Honestly, not had time to test in flight (Combination of having to work for a living and crappy weather
) but I did connect the battery and check out the options you mentioned.
I feel sure it will work, hopefully this weekend will be decent weather
Will Absolute Control using the 60Beat ever become a reality do you think?

Yes D-an-W, this is on my todo list. Too bad they discontinued the 60Beat controller!

I am a current user of the Drone Control HD for iPad application. Works very well, and the "tools" are an awesome addition.
Thanks
Thanks

Update 2.7 for Drone Control HD is available
Support for the new iOS7 MFI gamepad controllers. You will have the best experience using "extended layout" controllers. (With 2 additional analog sticks)
Fixes a bug which could cause the app to appear unresponsive or even crash in certain situations.
Fixes an issue with the length of some "did you know" hints.
Pairing to the MAC address is no longer supported in the latest AR.Drone firmware(s). It looks like Parrot removed the option silently and since pairing with an unsuported firmware version results in a "control link not available" error, I had to remove the option also. You can always reset your AR.Drone to unpair the device.
This version allows you to get rid of the emergency button. Please consider this is a pro feature! Disabling the emergency button is not recommended. Also note that, if your AR.Drone goes crazy for whatever reason you can grab it carefully and turn it upside down, it will shut off the motors immediately.
The location field in the navigation data file will be prefilled on the basis of your current GPS position. You can still edit it afterwards.
iOS 7 conformance.
