How to clear memory?

The Parrot Mambo minidrone is full of surprises! Whether you equip it with the Cannon or the Grabber, it'll turn the sky into an amazing playground.

How to clear memory?

Post by MamboBambo » 23 Jan 2019, 19:30

Hello,

currently we are using Mambos in our university project. After experiencing several kinds of problems a quick research brought up two articles - one about factory reset and one about clearing the mambos memory. Those articles both state problems we happened to experience as well, namely:

-The connection to PARROT Mambo minidrone over Bluetooth® is failing, even though the connection was successful earlier.
-You observe unsatisfactory performance of the code running on the PARROT Mambo minidrone.
-The communication over Bluetooth® connection is very slow.

While the factory reset itself (https://de.mathworks.com/help/supportpk ... reset.html) seems to work fine, we have not been able to successfully clear the mambos memory (https://de.mathworks.com/help/supportpk ... emory.html). On Windows(tried on 7 and 10) we have not been able to successfully install the RNDIS driver mentioned in the later article (it's not installable on windows 10 at all, and wont successfully install on windows 7). On Linux the telnet command never connects to the stated ip.

Does anyone know how to either
- clear the mambos memory successfully?
- may tackle the problems stated above differently?

Kind regards

Which firmware are you actually using on your Mambos?

Currently we have one with firmware version 3.0.17 and one I recently updated to 3.0.26. We experienced the same kind of problems with both versions

I would suggest to update all drones to FW 3.0.26.
Without the RNDIS driver correctly installed you will not be able to clear memory.
So:
- Win10: update KB4058258 installed (January 2018)?
- how far did you get to install RNDIS? What was the problem?
- did it work before?
- did you change USB port?
- tried to de- and reinstall the driver?
- ...

- Win10: update KB4058258 installed (January 2018)?

I could not find that update with
wmic qfe get hotfixid | find "KB4058258"
wmic qfe | find "KB4058258"

and if I try to install it manually it is said to be not compatible with the windows version

- how far did you get to install RNDIS? What was the problem?

On the two windows 10 pc's I tried the mambo never gets listed as "other device" but always as usb mass storage or mobile/wearable
(On one of the two Win7 virtual machines it did get listed as "other device" and let me actually find the RNDIS driver under "Microsoft Corporation" . The installation failed with code 10 though.)

- did it work before?

I never got it to work so far

- did you change USB port?

I tried diferent ports and cables (and noticed that some cables for example won't lead to the listing of "other device" in the one win7 vm mentioned before)

- tried to de- and reinstall the driver?

I did several times in the win7 vm after the installation failed with code 10

There were some problems with this driver.
You can try to install the RNDIS driver manually:
