[SOLVED] Automatic URL parsing problem

Post by pawelsky » 20 Feb 2013, 19:11

There seems to be somehting wrong with automatic URL parsing. When you edit a post that includes an URL NOT surrounded in [url] tag, the it bemoces messed up like that

http://<the_url>" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"

Can this be fixed somehow?

Any chance to have it investigated? I must admit it is pretty annoying :(

Agreed. It's annoying to make an edit for spelling or something, and then afterward see it's messed up because I forgot I had a link in there somewhere, and now it just gained all that extra junk. I've gotten into the habit of just remembering to need to trim that part off from every link on each edit.

I try to remember to surround all my links with [url] tags (so others will also not have this problem when quoting), but still sometimes forget or quote someone who did not use the [url] tag and the problem is back again :(

Thanks for the heads up, I've looked into this again with fresh eyes and a big mug of coffee.
I think this should now be corrected. Although now you won't open the links in a new windoww/tab(I'll look into that. I'll try target="_blank" at somepoint)

Do you guys wanna check it out for me and ensure it's better than before, cheer.
Symon
