Re: Landing gear modification

I love that paperclip mod! K.I.S.S! Me too! Looks cheap and efficient, which I like :) I drilled out the wheel hubs on mine so the wheels would spin freely. now i can "drive" my drone like a car. LOL! I will try and post some video. I am currently having an issue with the weather here in Toronto. B...

Re: My LED Light Ring

In the site, it says:
It connects to the Drone via the JST-XH charger plug.
However, in the battery there is a warning that states: "Do not discharge thorugh the charger plug" I don't know much about LiPo batteries. Is it really safe? Do you provide any warranty on damages about that?

Regards

Re: Landing gear modification

Recently I found that 4 larger paperclips folded in half work. drill some short holes in the sole of the landing gear. straighten the paper clips, then fold them in half, use some pliers to bend the tips if the paperclipsso they sort of hook into the holes. the paperclips bend on harder landings so...

Re: Landing gear modification

Actually with the landing gear closer to the center less stress will be put on the center cross. Think of it like a lever and then throw in the added cushioning of the tires and it would appear to be an improvement. As for the height, I don't see how the minimal increase in height on the ground wou...

Re: Landing gear modification

I don't like it because it get the drone body too high. On a hard land the shafts will bend on a sharp degree and the cross section will likely break easier. Maybe, a little foam under the body can help mitigating that.
However I like how it looks.

Re: Broken NavBoard?

So.. I finally figured out how the PWM control works. To verify if it is correct I would need a short interceptty dump of the initialization + start + landing. Can anyone provide this to me (e.g. via PM)? I'm so sorry. Didn't got a new Navboard yet and I can't get up my drone. However, I'm very int...

Re: Logging navdata locally on drone

I can read the raw navboard serial port communications with program.elf. This data contains everything you need, but need to write some program to interpret it Take a look on this post . It talks about ttyPA1, but you can read navdata on serial device ttypPA2. Also, in scorpion2k blog you can find h...

Re: Broken NavBoard?

I have compiled Interceptty for ARM, and it can run on my AR.Drone to simulate a "fake" /dev/ttyPA2, logging NavData. Unfortunately Interceptty has not yet implemented ioctl() calls, thus program.elf can not trigger NavData via ioctl(). Need to find a new serial port sniffer. After a few hours figu...

Re: Broken NavBoard?

Unfortunately Interceptty has not yet implemented ioctl() calls, thus program.elf can not trigger NavData via ioctl(). Need to find a new serial port sniffer. As far as I know, ioctl on ttyPA2 is used with TCSETS operation. This can be set using stty with aproppiate parameters. Not a dificult task....

Re: Broken NavBoard?

You need to check the connector between NavBoard and MainBoard, there is a 2x4 Pin connector there. Yep, checked and double-checked and it still no response frome navboard. IMHO it's crappy hardware :S A flying machine prone to crash that break too easily... looks like a marketing decision. Ups, I'...

Re: Broken NavBoard?

I could test my AR.Drone with scorpion2k advise. I made a mistake when I said that ttyPA1 was giving problems. It is ttyPA2. I tried the scoprion2k commands and dd didn't got anything. So I figure that my Navboard is KO. Is there anything more I can do before buying for a new one? Some detailed info...

Re: Broken NavBoard?

Hi, ttyPA1 are the motors, not the navboard. Navboard is at ttyPA2. You should check if the motor connections work properly. Maybe your wires or connectors got damaged when your central cross was damaged. Best regards Thanks! I will check that later. However, yesterday remove mainboard and connect ...

Re: Will drone work without front cam? Orange light...

I've been messing around with the ArDrone and found that due a glitch in control software, it will not start if front cam is not connected. From the outside, you should view a red ligth, then green for a few seconds and red again. However, you should have wifi access, and telnet and ftp should not b...

Broken NavBoard?

Hi, After a crash, that broke the central cross, my Ar Drone refused to fly. I can connect with AR.FreeFligth and got video from frontal camera, but it says "EMERGENCY UNKNOWN" (got it in spanish "PROBLEMA INDETERMINADO"). AR.FreeFligth don't show any motors information and is not aware of any senso...
